MLS All-Star Game: 2009

PROFESSIONAL

2012: Became the first ever Montreal Impact team captain in Major League Soccer on March 6… Set personal bests with 33 games played and 31 starts… Scored the club’s first ever goal in MLS on March 17 against the Chicago Fire at Olympic Stadium… Recorded four goals and three assists and registered his eighth career season with more than 2,000 minutes of play with 2,765 minutes, the second highest total in his career… Also surpassed 20,000 career minutes on April 18 at D.C. United… Selected on the MLSSoccer.com Team of the Week for week 26… Became the fifth player in MLS history to surpass 600 career fouls suffered, finishing second in the league during regular season with 74 fouls suffered… Started both games in the Amway Canadian Championship and one MLS Reserve League game… Also played in international matches against Bologna FC and ACF Fiorentina during the post-season tour in Italy.

2011: Played 22 games, starting 16, with Sporting Kansas City, recording two assists… Helped the club to a first place finish in the Eastern Conference during the regular season… Also played in three playoff games… Acquired by the Montreal Impact on November 28 in return for Seth Sinovic and allocation money… Left Kansas City in first place all-time with 240 games played… In second place all-time with 43 goals, and third in assists with 35, starts with 213 and minutes played with 19,390.

2010: Named Kansas City team captain prior to the season… Played and started in 27 games, tallying six goals and three assists… Surpassed 200 career games with the club… In a friendly, scored in the 11th minute against English Premier League giants Manchester United in a 2-1 victory.

2009: Appeared in 25 games, all as starter… Missed five games while on duty with the U.S. National Team at the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup… Named an MLS All-Star for the first time, played the final 27 minutes of the All-Star Game against English club Everton F.C. … Earned MLS Goal of the Week honours for his goal against the New England Revolution on June 13th… Also played in three games in the North American SuperLiga championship.

2008: Awarded Team Heart Award for the second consecutive season… Won the team’s Golden Boot award with seven goals and three assists, despite missing six games due to injury… Led team with three game-winning goals… Scored the lone goal in 3-1 aggregate loss to the Columbus Crew in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

2007: Captured first-ever Team Heart Award, given to the most dedicated player, for a performance that included team and career-high nine assists to go along with four goals in 28 games… Finished tied for fifth in the league for most assists… Scored the game-winning goal in Western Conference Semifinal Series on a free kick from 25 yards out.

2006: Finished with four goals and four assists in a career-high and team-high 32 games played.

2005: Helped pace Kansas City’s attack with five goals and four assists in 31 games.

2004: Led Kansas City to the MLS Cup Final with a career-high nine regular-season goals and eight assists… Scored team-high two postseason goals during Western Conference Semifinal win over LA and added one assist… Also helped the club win the 2004 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

2003: In his second season, scored three goals in 18 games… Scored goal in first career start, scoring in the 11th minute against the MetroStars… Also played in all three postseason games.

2002: Selected by the Kansas City Wizards in the fifth round, 50th overall, of the 2002 MLS SuperDraft… Played in three games as a rookie.

INTERNATIONAL

Played in seven games with the U.S. National Team… Earned first career appearance on September 9, 2007 against Brazil… Made second appearance in 2008 World Cup Qualifier against Guatemala… Played a large role in the United States' 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign, scoring his first international goal against Haiti in the group stage and starting all three of the team’s knockout round games.

COLLEGE

Became the first player named an All-American in the history of West Texas A&M, after tallying 13 goals and  three assists in his junior season… Ended three-year career with 31 goals and 11 assists… Was inducted into West Texas A&M Hall of Fame in 2008.

YOUTH

Played at Elite Soccer Club for coach Brian Arendale.

PERSONAL

Married wife Stephanie in December of 2008 and had daughter, Peyton, on October 28, 2008… Majored in mass communications in college… Enjoys playing golf.
