2010 MLS Season: Appeared in 16 matches, with 13 starts... Had one assist (5/1)... Had  two yellow cards (5/1)... Had two red cards (4/10, 5/1)... Missed matches on 4/24 and  5/8 due to automatic red card suspension... Missed matches on 5/31, 6/2, 6/5 and 6/26  due to R quad strain and on 9/11, 9/25, 10/2 and 10/8 for back.

2009 MLS Season: Appeared and started in 26 matches... Had one assist (7/25)... Had  six yellow cards (5/2, 5/17, 6/6, 7/18, 8/15, 10/3)... Had one red card (5/17)... Named yellow card suspension... Missed match on 5/27 due to red card suspension.

2009 MLS Cup Playoffs: Started both playoff matches against RSL.

2009-10 CONCACAF Champions League: Started in five matches. 

2008 MLS Season: Started all 28 games in which he appeared... Tallied a career-high  four assists (4/12 vs. Chivas, 6/14 at K.C., 10/4 vs. L.A. and 10/12 at Chicago)... Those on  4/12 and 10/4 were game-winners... Had five yellow cards (4/17, 6/14, 7/5, 7/27, 8/23)  and one red card (5/31)... Missed match on 8/30 due to yellow card suspension.

2008 MLS Cup Playoffs: Started all four matches in the Crew’s run to the 2008 MLS Cup title... Had one yellow card (11/13).

2008 U.S. Open Cup: Started both Open Cup matches. 

2007 MLS Season: Started all 27 games in which he appeared... Had one assist (9/15 at  K.C.) on the season... Missed games on 6/10 (red card suspension) and 6/30 (yellow card  accumulation)... Made Crew debut in season opener vs. N.Y. on 4/7.

2007 U.S. Open Cup: Started and went the full 90 minutes in the Crew’s USOC qualifier vs. L.A. on 4/24. 

2006 MLS Season: Saw action in 28 games for New York, starting 27 of them... Finished  the season with two assists... Notched first point of his MLS career with an assist against.

2006 U.S. Open Cup: Started both USOC matches in which he appeared. 

2005 MLS Season: Started 12 of the 13 games in which he appeared in for San Jose  during his rookie campaign.

2005 U.S. Open Cup: Started both USOC matches in which  he appeared.  

College: Won the prestigious MAC Hermann Trophy (soccer’s Heisman) in 2004, after  helping Indiana to its second-straight NCAA  championship... In his four years, the Hoosiers  posted a goals-against average of 0.60 with  46 shutouts... Was a college teammate of  current Crew teammate Jed Zayner... 2004:  Served as tri-captain on national championship  squad... Assisted on the winning goal in a  3-2 double-OT come-from-behind victory over  Maryland in the College Cup semifinals… Scored the first two goals of his career in 2004  and registered a career-high four assists…  Anchored a team defense that ranked among  the national leaders with a GAA of 0.63 and  11 shutouts... In addition to the Hermann, was  named NSCAA Scholar Athlete of the Year...  An NSCAA All-America first team and All-Big  Ten first team selection... 2003: Served as  co-captain of national-championship squad…  Started all 23 games in which he played…  Was an All-Big Ten first team selection and  earned NSCAA All-America honorable men-tion… One of only four unanimous selections  to the All-Big Ten first team... Named to the  All-Great Lakes Region first team...  Was one around the country... Earned academic All-Big  Ten honors... 2002: A starter in all 15 matches  in which he played… Was named to All-Big  Ten first team… Was forced to miss the final  six games of the regular season after suffering  multiple broken bones in his face… Returned for  conference and NCAA tournaments… Earned  academic All-Big Ten honors... 2001: Started  all 22 matches in which he appeared as a  freshman and registered one assist.  

Other Amateur Highlights: Captained Worthington Kilbourne High School. Was Ohio Capital Conference Player of the All-State as a senior... His Kilbourne uniform No. 9 was retired by the school on 9/20/07. 

Personal: A native of the Columbus area, his father played football at Colorado State and  professionally for the Houston Oilers... Has two  sisters, Meghan and Caitie... Was named the  Crew’s 20 07 U.S. Soccer Foundation Humani-tarian of the Year... Majored in Biochemistry  at Indiana... Also played basketball and ran  track in high school... His favorite players are  Steven Gerrard, Gennaro Gattuso, and Fabio  Cannavaro.
