Joel Campbell is one of the most promising players Costa Rican players has ever produced and he was relied upon heavily during the Ticos' qualification campaign. There's a reason the 21-year-old is already an Arsenal player, scoring against Manchester United in the 2013-'14 UEFA Champions League while on loan with Greek side Olympiakos.
COSTA RICAN NATIONAL TEAM
First appearing for Costa Rica back in 2011, Campbell has become a stalwart in Jorge Luis Pinto’s side. Campbell scored three goals during World Cup qualifying and has already collected over 30 caps despite his young age.
Rising quickly through the youth ranks of Costa Rican side Saprissa, Campbell made his first club appearance for their senior team in 2009. Two years later, in 2011 Campbell was transferred to Arsenal, but has yet to make an appearance for the Gunners, who have instead loaned him out to Lorient (France), Real Betis (Spain), and Olympiakos (Greece).
