Bryan Ruiz is one of the most experienced players for the Ticos, making over 60 appearances for the team since 2005. The playmaker scored three goals for Costa Rica in the World Cup qualification process.

Ruiz has been a stalwart for his national team since first appearing back in 2005. He scored six goals for the Ticos in the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup and has scored 12 total goals for the side.
Since leaving Alajuelense in 2006, Ruiz has bounced around to four different teams in Europe with different levels of success. He was named Gent’s player of the season in 2009 before moving to FC Twente in the Netherlands where he won the Eredivisie in 2010 and was named the player of the season again in 2010. After the 2011 season he moved to Fulham in the English Premier League. Recently he went back to the Netherlands on loan, playing for PSV Eindhoven.
