2009: Christian Castillo spent the 2009 season with Mexico’s Club Leon, making 15 appearances and scoring a goal for the Second Division side.
2008: The left-footed midfielder joined Alianza FC for a season, where he tallied three goals in 26 appearances.
2006-2007: In 2006, Castillo transferred to CD Chalatenango and made his first division debut. After injuries limited his playing time, Castillo was able to come back and break into the starting eleven. In his two years at Chalatenango, Castillo made 49 appearances and scored three goals.
2002-2005: Castillo began his professional career in El Salvador with CD Telecom, signing with the Second Division team when he was 18 years old.
2008-2009: Castillo earned his first cap for El Salvador on April 23, 2008, playing in a friendly against China. He scored his first international goal in August that same year, the lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Trinidad and Tobago at RFK Stadium. His next two goals in El Salvador’s jersey came in World Cup Qualifying, both against the United States. In total, Castillo has earned 32 caps with the El Salvador National Team and remains one of the country’s brightest young attacking players.
