College: Attended Northwestern University. Played all 20 games in his freshman season (2009), starting 18. Scored a goal and tallied an assist, was named to Big Ten All-Freshman Team ... Played just two games in 2010 before being sidelined by injury ... Rebounded in 2011 by playing in and starting all 20 games for Northwestern, scoring four goals and two assists. Named Second Team All-Big Ten ... Played and started 22 games in 2012, registering five goals and five assists. Named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Big Ten and NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region second team.

Prep: Graduated from New Trier High School in Winnetka, Ill. Three-year letterwinner and team captain in 2008. Member of state championship teams in 2006 and 2008.

Club: Eight-year member of Trevian Soccer Club/FC United, but most recently played on Chicago Fire's Academy team.
