Chivas USA acquired Mexican-American striker Cesar Romero on February 22, 2012, after having played for Murcielagos FC de Guamuchil of the Mexican Second Division League. Romero joined the Red-and-White during preseason, where he immediately made a strong impact on the team, scoring his first goal for Chivas USA in the club’s first scrimmage against FC Hasental.
Romero, originally from San Diego, Calif., and raised in Mexican bordertown Tijuana, has also played for Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL) side Revolucion Tijuana, where he scored nine goals in one match, and summed 33 goals in four games while playing for the indoor soccer team, breaking a record within the league. Romero has also been a part of the USMNT U-16’s, U-17’s and U-18’s figuring in several matches for the youth national team. He is the proud father of a 1 ½ year old son named Cesar.
