Zemanski was acquired in a preseason trade with Chivas USA on Feb. 13, 2013, in exchange for allocation money and the right of first refusal to defender Jonathan Bornstein. The midfielder made 72 appearances over three seasons with Chivas USA (2010-2012), tallying two goals and seven assists. An Akron native, Zemanski will be reunited with college coach Caleb Porter for the Timbers’ 2013 season.
2013: Made his Portland debut as a halftime substitute March 9 of a 2-1 loss to Montreal … Assisted on the club’s lone goal by Ryan Johnson in the 80th minute.
2012: Made 22 league appearances with the Chivas USA, including 18 starts… Missed nearly two months from mid-April to mid-June due to a knee injury … Notched two assists, including one on the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over the Portland Timbers on July 28 at JELD-WEN Field.
2011: Appeared in career-high 28 games for Chivas USA, making 23 starts … Finished sixth on the team in minutes played, logging 2,056 minutes … Tallied two goals and four assists for the Rojiblancos, both career-highs … Scored first MLS goal in the 84th minute of the season opener March 19, a 3-2 loss to Sporting Kansas City … Assisted on opening goal by Nick Labrocca in Chivas USA’s 3-0 win over FC Dallas April 30 … Came on as a second-half substitute in a July meeting against the San Jose Earthquakes and scored the game-winner in the 64th minute of a 2-0 win.
2010: Drafted in the third round (47th overall) by Chivas USA in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft … Appeared in 22 games, including 17 starts as a rookie … Made first MLS appearance April 17, coming on as a substitute against Houston … Made first MLS start the following week against San Jose, playing all 90 minutes … Notched first MLS assist in 3-1 win over Columbus on July 31.
