Conceição, a left footed center back, joins the Union from Tombense FC of Brazil’s Série C. The 26 year old has already played at the highest level in Spain and earned an early season start against FC Dallas. He will likely have more chances to shore up a Union defense that conceded 55 goals last year, and is looking to push Maurice Edu into midfield. 

OUTSIDE MLS: Conceicao joined Tombense in June 2011, but has spent the majority of his tenure on various loan spells at larger clubs. In 2015, Conceição played for América Mineiro, where he appeared in 30 matches while helping the team achieve promotion to Série A for the 2016 season. During the 2012-2013 season, Conceição played for La Liga’s RCD Mallorca, appearing in 19 matches in all competitions including two matches in the Copa del Rey.
