HOW ACQUIRED: Traded from New York in 2015 offseason.

The versatile Cameroon international is one of the better outside players in MLS. He has 35 regular season and five postseason appearances in his first two MLS seasons, despite a delayed arrival in Montreal at the start of 2015. He was named the Red Bulls Newcomer of the year in 2014, and Oyongo is one of the rising stars in the league. The Impact will hope he is considered an elite MLS defender in 2016.

OUTSIDE MLS:  Oyongo won three championships with Coton Sport FC in Cameroon's first division (2010, 2011, and 2013), as well as the Cameroon Cup in 2011. He also helped Coton Sport reach the CAF Champions League semifinals.

INTERNATIONAL: Oyongo has played 14 games with the Cameroon National Team, scoring his first goal on January 20, 2015, in a 1-1 draw with Mali in the African Cup of Nations. He made his debut with the selection on September 6, 2014, against the Democratic Republic of Congo. He also took part in the FIFA U20 World Cup in 2011.
