Sofiane Feghouli is the offensive heart and soul of a young Algerian team. A pure offensive midfielder with a scoring touch, he mostly plays on the right side but can take role of a central midfielder / playmaker for both country and club.
ALGERIAN NATIONAL TEAM
In 2008, Feghouli was on France’s shortlist for a pre-selection ahead of a friendly against Uruguay. But he was convinced by Algeria to switch allegiances, only joining the Desert Foxes in 2011 for friendlies against Tunisia and Cameroon.
After three years with Grenoble in France, he joined Spanish side Valencia on a free transfer in 2010. His first six months were difficult and he was loaned to Almeria to get more playing time. He returned to Valencia for the 2011-2012 season and never looked back.
He is a regular starter at right midfield for the Spanish club and he has played 14 games in the UEFA Champions League.
