Islam Slimani is Algeria’s No. 1 striker. With 10 goals in 19 games for Algeria, he has been an impressive and imposing figure for the Desert Foxes. He is a physical striker and uses his athletic abilities to wear down defenses. A pivot striker, he can impose himself in the air, but can also pass the ball quite well.

He joined the senior Algeria side in May 2012 and never looked back. He is a fixture in Halilhodzic’s starting lineup.
His club career has a ‘’rags to riches‘’ feel to it. Spotted in the lower divisions in Algeria, he made him name with CR Belouizdad. In 2013, he signed with Sporting CP and imposed himself as the first-choice striker after struggling at the beginning of the season.
He plays with ex-Seattle Sounders striker, Fredy Montero.
