TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Roster Update The New England Revolution and defender Alexander Buttner have mutually agreed to part ways, the club announced Wednesday. Buttner, 31, made 17 appearances in his lone season with the Revs, including 15 starts. The left back had three assists.

Career Summary

Mutually agree to terminate contract on Jan. 20, 2021

Buttner is a veteran Dutch defender, with experience in the top flights of the Netherlands, England and Russia, who will look to elevate New England's defensive corps for 2019.

INTERNATIONAL: Buttner represented the Dutch national team at the U-19 and U-20 levels. Was a provisional selection to the senior team's 2012 Euros squad, but did not make the final cut.

OUTSIDE MLS: Perhaps best known for his stint with Manchester United from 2012-14, Buttner has played in his native Netherlands for Vitesse, Russia for Dynamo Moscow, and Belgium for Anderlecht.

TITLES WON: Buttner has won a Premier League title and a Dutch KNVB Cup.
