A veteran of six MLS seasons, Johnson joins the Timbers from Toronto FC, where he was one of the team’s leading scorers in 2012. He was drafted by Real Salt Lake in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft following a standout collegiate career at Oregon State University. A Jamaican international, Johnson has been a key member of the Reggae Boyz since 2010, scoring eight goals in 23 international matches.

ACQUIRED: Acquired by the Timbers on Dec. 12, 2012, along with goalkeeper Milos Kocic, in a trade with Toronto FC in exchange for a first-round pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, goalkeeper Joe Bendik and allocation money.

2012: Recorded career-highs in regular-season games played (31) and minutes (2,769) in his second season with Toronto FC … Finished the season as the club’s second-leading scorer with seven goals and tied for the club lead with five assists … Ranked second among the squad in regular-season matches played … Tallied the club’s lone goal at Seattle on March 17, which was named the MLS Goal of the Week in Week 2 … Registered an assist in consecutive matches April 21 in a 3-2 loss to Chicago and April 28 in a 3-2 loss to Real Salt Lake … Scored in back-to-back league matches June 23 and June 27, leading to a 2-2 draw against New England and a 3-0 win over Montreal, respectively … The two goals were part of a three-game point streak June 20-27, in which he recorded two goals and two assists … Notched the equalizing goal in the 51st minute of a comeback 2-1 win over the Colorado Rapids July 18 at BMO Field … His sixth-minute goal against New York on Sept. 29 was a candidate for the 2012 MLS AT&T Goal of the Year and it reached the Round of 16 in the fan vote … Started all four matches of the 2012 Canadian Championship, leading Toronto FC to a fourth straight Voyager’s Cup and a berth in the 2012-13 CONCACAF Champions League … Scored two of the club’s four goals in the tournament, and was awarded the George Gross Memorial Trophy as the 2012 Canadian Championship's best player … Scored a goal in each leg of the 2011-12 CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals against the LA Galaxy, helping Toronto FC advance to the competition’s semifinal against Mexican club Santos Laguna … Played in all four Group Stage matches during the 2012-13 CONCACAF Champions League, scoring a goal in a 5-1 win over Salvadorian side CD Aguila at BMO Field on Aug. 1

2011: Split the season between the San Jose Earthquakes and Toronto FC … Started the season in San Jose, where he played in 14 matches and registered two assists … Recorded assists in back-to-back matches …  Made his 100th regular-season appearance for San Jose on April 16 … Assisted on the opening goal of a 1-1 draw May 11 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC and on the opening goal of a 3-0 victory over Columbus Crew May 14 … Was acquired by Toronto FC from San Jose on July 14 along with an international roster slot and allocation money in exchange for Nana Attakora, Alan Gordon and Jacob Peterson … Started 12 regular-season matches for Toronto FC, scoring three goals … Registered one goal and one assist in his second match with the club July 23 in a 4-2 loss to Sporting Kansas City … Scored the equalizing goal in a 1-1 draw against the Philadelphia Union on Oct. 15 at PPL Park … Played in eight matches (all starts) in the 2011-12 CONCACAF Champions League, scoring three goals … Recorded a brace Aug. 2 in the return leg of the Preliminary Round against Real Esteli FC of Nicaragua, scoring in the 37th and 47th minutes, to help Toronto FC advance to the Group Stage of the tournament … Also missed a portion of the season with the Jamaica National Team for the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

2010: Started 19 of his 27 regular-season appearances for San Jose, notching a career-high eight assists … Assisted on the game-winning goal May 1 in a 1-0 win over the Colorado Rapids … Scored his lone goal of the season and notched two assists in 85 minutes of work May 8 in a 4-0 win at Buck Shaw Stadium … Played the second half of a summer friendly against EPL side Tottenham Hotspur on July 17 at Buck Shaw Stadium … Recorded a second, two-assist performance, including one on the game-winning goal, against Toronto FC on Sept. 25, leading to a 3-2 road win at BMO Field …  Registered assists in back-to-back matches on Oct. 20 against Chivas USA (3-0 win) and Oct. 23 at Sporting Kansas City (4-1 L) … Started and played the full 90 in both legs of San Jose’s Eastern Conference semifinal series against New York … Assisted on a goal by Bobby Convey in a 3-1 road win at New York on Nov. 4 to help the Earthquakes advance to the Eastern Conference final … Started and played 90 minutes in the conference final Nov. 13 against eventual MLS Cup 2010 champion Colorado Rapids.

2009: Played in all 30 regular-season matches for San Jose (27 starts), finishing the season as the club’s leading goal-scorer with 11 goals … Was named the club’s MVP at season’s end … Played the full 90 in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup play-in match against New York on April 29 … Scored in three straight regular-season matches May 8-27, recording the club’s lone goal in road losses to New York, Houston and Columbus … Scored the first of three game-winning goals during the season June 20 in a 2-1 victory over the LA Galaxy … Helped spark a comeback with a 36th-minute goal in a 2-2 draw against D.C. United on July 25 … Tallied the winner in the 73rd minute of a comeback 2-1 road win over D.C. United on Sept. 27 … Converted a penalty kick in the 24th minute, which proved to be the winner in a 1-0 win over New York on Oct. 3 … Started in an exhibition match Sept. 8 against CD Aguila.

2008: Signed with the San Jose Earthquakes prior to the start of the 2008 season … Registered five goals and one assist in 28 games during the regular season … Made his club debut April 3 as an 85th-minute sub against the LA Galaxy … Scored his first MLS goal in the 88th minute of a 3-2 loss to the Columbus Crew on May 10; he entered the match as a sub in the 66th minute … Earned his first start with San Jose on May 22 against the Houston Dynamo … Scored his fourth goal of the season Aug. 16, coming off the bench to score in the 71st minute of a 4-0 win over New England … Assisted on Darren Huckerby’s game-winning strike in the 83rd minute of a 2-1 win against Sporting Kansas City on Aug. 30 … Scored his third goal of the season as a substitute on Oct. 2 against FC Dallas, finding the opening goal in the 58th minute, just a minute after entering the match … Played the full 90 in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup play-in match April 30 against Real Salt Lake … Played in four games with the Earthquakes Reserves in the MLS Reserve Division, scoring three goals and recording one assist … Notched two goals against the Real Salt Lake Reserves on Sept. 28.

2006: Was drafted in the third round (No. 26 overall) of the MLS SuperDraft by Real Salt Lake … Made seven appearances for RSL, including his MLS debut on April 2 as a 73rd-minute sub against Chivas USA at The Home Depot Center … Made his lone start of the season April 29 in a 3-2 loss to the LA Galaxy at Rice-Eccles Stadium … Was traded to the Chicago Fire on July 26 … Played 46 minutes over three matches with the Fire during the remainder of the season … In total, logged 198 minutes over 10 appearances in his first professional campaign.
