Dom Dwyer came to America for college soccer after spending time in the Norwich City Academy system. He holds the Sporting single season record for goals in a season with 22, and is also well known as the husband of United States Women's national team star Sydney Leroux. Dwyer has 36 goals since the beginning of the 2013 season, the fifth most in MLS. Dwyer is one of the more high profile strikers in the league, and his style of play is a perfect fit for the system used by Peter Vermes.

COLLEGE: Dwyer was a 2011 MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist and NSCAA All-American Second Team selection after being named the Big East Offensive Player of the Year. He led USF with 16 goals and two assists in 21 games, helping the team reach the quarterfinals of the 2011 NCAA Tournament. Prior to that, he was named NJCAA National Player of the Year in his second season at Tyler (Texas). Helped lead the team to back-to-back national junior college championships, going undefeated with 41-0-1 record. Scored a combined 52 goals in 42 games with 10 assists.
