U15s: The Red Bull U15s are not in season.
U14s: The Red Bull U14s are split into two groups, the U14 1996 team and the U14 Pre Academy team. Both teams posted wins last week, as the 1996s tallied a dominant win while the Pre Academy side produced a hard fought result.
The U14 1996 team traveled to South Jersey to meet U14 Highland SC and came away with a 5-1 victory on Saturday, November 21 in CJYSA action. The 1996s dominated the early stages of the game and Theo Miller (Brooklyn, NY) opened the scoring from the top of the box. Five minutes later, JP Rojas (Piscataway, NJ) made it 2-0 at half time. It was much of the same in the second half with the Red Bulls creating more chances. Vincent Brunetti (Wyckoff, NJ) scored the third goal. Rojas scored the fourth goal after a great buildup play from the back where at least six Red Bulls players were involved before the ball ended up in the net. Highland scored one goal before Javier Gonzales (North Bergen, NJ) rounded the scoring off for the Red Bulls.
"It was difficult at the beginning to adjust to a bumpy field, and we didn't get the ball on the ground as much as we wanted," said head coach Antonio Meza. "It's always good to see that the group concentrates to play soccer and from that we are getting positive results. Also it is good to see that players that are coming in from the bench keep the game going the same way as the ones that started. That tells me we are finding a good understanding as a group."
On Saturday, November 21, the U14 Pre Academy team defeated U14 FC Delco, 1-0, at Rutgers Newark in US Club Soccer Pre Academy League action. Michael Kapitula (Clifton, NJ) opened the scoring in the tenth minute with a volley from the top of the goal. The Red Bulls created more chances in the first half but FC Delco goalkeeper Zachary Steffan made some key saves to keep his side in the match. At the other end, Red Bulls goalkeeper Santiago Castano (Union City, NJ) made a key block on a breakaway just before halftime to ensure the Red Bulls went into the beak up, 1-0. In the second half the Red Bulls continued to pressure the FC Delco line, but couldn't find another way through the defense or goalkeeper.
"It was another good performance from the players today," said head coach Paul O'Donnell. "We created a lot of chances, but FC Delco's keeper was in fine form."
