TORONTO FC 1, SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES 1
TORONTO FC INTERIM HEAD COACH CHRIS CUMMINS
On the game:
"I'm fuming with the goal, and I sensed it coming. We dropped deep and we got sloppy and people dropped out of position - we've had a go. The fans did their part today you know we asked them to do their part and they did their part, again we haven't turned up for the last few minutes and we spoiled what would have been a decent performance. I'm fuming to be honest with you."
TORONTO FC DEFENDER JIM BRENNAN
On still being in the hunt:
"You know we're still in it. It's just frustrating because we let ourselves down we had it and then we let it get away from us in the last few minutes. We're disappointed, but we've got to get ourselves up for next week." TORONTO FC GOALKEEPER BRIAN EDWARDS
On the last 5 minutes of the game:
"You know it's the story of Toronto FC for this year. I felt good; especially early I got an early touch on the ball and came in for a couple of crosses in the second half. We don't have enough about us right now -- the confidence to hold a 1-0 lead and it's everybody from the top to the back it's all of us."
On the playoff push and if they still have momentum:
"Yeah, definitely. I mean as a group we're angry, we're hungry now and we're not going to throw in the towel -- there's not a chance of that happening at all. We got players in here that want to win, that know how to win and that can win and it's just that as a group we're going to have to dig in and hope for a little bit of luck."
SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES HEAD COACH FRANK YALLOP
On the late goal:
"I think that we had some dangerous moments it looked like we were going to score, I kept thinking we're going to get something. It didn't feel like Toronto had dominated and we couldn't get out of our half like some games. I felt good we were going to get a couple more chances and it did, it came at the last minute. For us, we've been hurt like Toronto in the last minutes of games badly as well."
On Cornell Glen's goal:
"He's not trained really at all in 4 weeks; he played for 5 minutes against Dallas and tonight he comes on and plays about 15 minutes. He's not game-fit at all -- it's really just good to get him on the field as a goal scorer. He's dangerous around the goal, he's a finisher, I think."
SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES FORWARD CORNELL GLEN
On the goal:
"On the goal I thought maybe if I just cheat a bit and stay far post it might come to me and exactly that happened. I've been training with Chris for the past few months and he has a tendency to over-hit the ball a lot of the time so I just thought to myself maybe if I stay back a bit maybe he'll over-hit it."
SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES GOALKEEPER JOE CANNON
On the late goal:
"It's nice change of pace because we've kind of given up some goals in the last month in injury time. It was nice to get on the other side of things and grab a result. I think this bodes well for our organization and our fans too -- you know we're not going to give up, we're not in the playoff race anymore but this group of guys are still going to work hard for the result and try to make our fans proud."
