Pumas UNAM confirm signing of Real Salt Lake Homegrown Sebastian Saucedo

Sebastian Saucedo - Real Salt Lake - October 21, 2018

Pumas UNAM officially announced the signing of Sebastian Saucedo on Monday, welcoming the Real Salt LakeHomegrown product ahead of their 2020 Clausura campaign in Liga MX.

Reports of the Mexico City heavyweights acquiring "Bofo" have been circulating for several weeks, with ESPNFC reporting last week that he's signed a two-and-a-half-year contract. He played out his previous deal with RSL and moves south on a free transfer.

Saucedo, 22, has scored five goals and 11 assists in 83 career MLS regular-season appearances (29 starts), as well as one goal in three Audi MLS Cup Playoffs matches. This marks his second stint in Liga MX, where he spent 2016 on loan with Veracruz.

A longtime US youth international, he is in contention for a spot on the United States Under-23 squad now preparing to compete for a spot in next year's Olympic Games.
