After sustaining an MCL injury to his knee against FC Cincinnati last month, NYCFC playmaker Maxi Moralez could make his return to action this weekend.

Moralez, who also missed time in the MLS is Back Tournament due to a quad injury, was expected to be out for four to six weeks after suffering the injury on Sept. 12.

During a press conference Tuesday, Deila said that Moralez had trained with the team this week and while he won’t be ready for Wednesday's game at Orlando City (TV & streaming info) he may be available on Sunday for a trip to take on the Columbus Crew.

“I think it's too early [Wednesday], we need to have him training more with the team,” Deila explained. “But he feels pretty good and looks pretty good as well, so we're happy about that."

NYCFC have also been without Heber (who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament on September 23), and recently sent attacking midfielder Alexandru Mitrita on loan to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli.

Despite the absences, New York City FC have gone 4-2-1 since Moralez went out. and sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings, four points behind Wednesday's opponents Orlando.
