No Nacho: Piatti to miss Montreal Impact home opener with knee injury

Frustrated Ignacio Piatti at Orlando

For the fourth straight game, the Montreal Impact will be without star forward Ignacio Piatti

The Impact have their 2019 home opener on Saturday against Columbus Crew SC (1 pm ET | TVAS, MLS LIVE on ESPN+ in US) but Piatti hasn't recovered from a knee injury in time to play a part.

Without Piatti, the club have lost 7-1 to Sporting Kansas City, but then earned 0-0 road draws against NYCFC and D.C. United last week. In their first three games, Piatti scored three goals and helped lead the team to two wins and a draw, giving the Impact eight points from their six-game road trip to open the season.

Stade Saputo will be rockin' even without Piatti in the Impact's home opener. Harry Novillo got his first start for the club last weekend with Piatti out, while Homegrown midfielder Mathieu Choiniere played on the left side on Tuesday.
