MLS Disciplinary Committee issues suspension to Nani, four fines from recent games

Ahead of the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoff conference semifinals, the MLS Disciplinary Committee has issued four fines and one suspension.


Nani aggressive behavior 

The Disciplinary Committee has issued a two-game suspension and undisclosed fine to Orlando City SC forward Nani for aggressive behavior toward a match official during the 45th minute of Orlando’s game against the Chicago Fire on Oct. 6. Nani will serve his suspension during the first two regular-season matches of the 2020 MLS season.


Gonzalez hands to the face, head or neck of an opponent

The Disciplinary Committee has found FC Dallas goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez in violation of the league’s policy regarding hands to the face, head or neck of an opponent. Additionally, the MLS Disciplinary Committee found Gonzalez guilty of simulation/embellishment. Gonzalez has been issued undisclosed fines for each of these actions, which occurred in the 115th minute of Dallas’ match against Seattle Sounders FC on Oct. 19.


Arriola failure to leave the field in a timely manner

The Disciplinary Committee issued an undisclosed fine to D.C. United midfielder Paul Arriola for failure to leave the field in a timely manner after receiving his red card in the 118th minute against Toronto FC on Oct. 19.


Schelotto entering the field of play

The Disciplinary Committee has found LA Galaxy head coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto in violation of the league’s policy regarding entering the field of play. Schelotto has been issued an undisclosed fine for his actions in the 76th minute of LA’s match against Minnesota United FC on Oct. 20.
