MLS Disciplinary Committee issues fines and warnings after San Jose-LA Galaxy altercation

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has issued fines to four players and warned two clubs following Week 15 of the 2020 MLS regular season.


Bikel failure to leave the field

The Disciplinary Committee has found Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Janio Bikel guilty of failure to leave the field in a timely manner following a red card. The incident took place in the 68th minute of Vancouver's game on Oct. 3 against the Seattle Sounders. As a result, Bikel was fined an undisclosed amount.


San Jose, LA Galaxy mass confrontation

The Disciplinary Committee has found the San Jose Earthquakes and LA Galaxy in violation of the league's mass confrontation policy. The incident took place in the 59th minute of stoppage time of their match on Oct. 3. As a result, both clubs have been issued a warning for their first violation. Due to their roles in the mass confrontation, Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski, as well as LA Galaxy forwards Cristian Pavon and Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez each have been issued an undisclosed fine for instigating and escalating a mass confrontation.
