"It's the coaching": Charlie Davies puts LA Galaxy struggles on Guillermo Barros Schelotto | Extratime

Guillermo Barros Schelotto looks on at MLS is Back Tournament

The LA Galaxy are on a six-match losing streak, a run that has seen them concede 19 goals and leaves them at the bottom of the Western Conference. It may be the team's worst run of games in its history, but not one that is down to the roster of talent. According to Charlie Davies on Extratime, the blame falls solely on the shoulders of head coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto.

"Their tactics are rubbish, the style of play is rubbish so no matter how much talent you have, there's no direction," Davies said. "If there's no real philosophy to the way you play, you end up losing 4-0 to San Jose, who is the most up and down team I think I've ever come across in this league."

Davies believes the Galaxy's problem is not in its roster, saying the team is "far too talented to be putting up these horrible performances," citing talent like Yony Gonzalez and Cristian Pavon that the Galaxy boast. He does, though, think the defensive effort needs to be addressed.

"The defending has been shambles," he said. "They've been in shambles for far too long and if I'm an LA Galaxy fan, what are you looking at? What are you watching? How are you not complaining?"

In the end, that responsibility falls on Schelotto alone.

"It's the style," Davies said. "It's the approach to the matches, what we've talked about the whole time. It's the coaching. That is what it comes down to: the coaching. Putting your team in a position to succeed."
