FC Dallas 2, New York Red Bulls 1 | 2019 MLS Preseason Match Recap

Jesus Ferreira - FC Dallas - June 3, 2017

Jesus Ferreira finished off an incisive attacking move 13 minutes from full time, and FC Dallas overcame an early deficit to defeat a heavily depleted New York Red Bulls squad 2-1 in both teams' final tuneup on Saturday.

The victory in Arizona gave Dallas bragging rights as champions of the preseason Mobile Mini Sun Cup, of which the 18-year-old Ferreira was named most valuable player.

Pablo Aranguiz also converted a penalty kick before halftime for Dallas, which made it three-straight preseason victories over MLS opponents by identical 2-1 scores.

Call-up Chris Lema opened the scoring from distance for the Red Bulls, who with concurrent Concacaf Champions League obligations featured a hybrid roster of the organization's MLS side and USL Red Bulls II outfit.
