WLUP's Hector to dribble soccer ball from downtown Chicago to Fire's new ome, Toyota Park, Friday beginning at 9 a.m. CT

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill.- The Chicago Fire has teamed up with local radio station WLUP 97.9 FM to have Hector from the Jonathan Brandmeier show raise funds for the Fire's charitable arm, the FireWorks For Kids Foundation, and its Kicks for Kids Program. On Friday, June 23 at 9:00 a.m., Hector will dribble a soccer ball from the WLUP studio in downtown Chicago to the club's brand new stadium, TOYOTA PARK, in Bridgeview, Illinois. It is expected that Hector's 14-mile dribble from WLUP (at the Merchandise Mart) to TOYOTA PARK will last approximately eight hours. Hector will need all the support he can get, and Chicago Fire fans are asked to join in on the fun by following Hector from the start to the end or by making a donation. A rest stop / reception is scheduled to take place along the way at LA CHIQUITA No. 1 Restaurant, located at 3555 West 26th Street in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood.

Fans are asked to show their support for Hector by pledging a dollar amount for every mile he travels. Fans can click on the links below to donate to the FireWorks For Kids Foundation and Kicks For Kids Program, which supports organizations whose programs provide educational and recreational opportunities for economically or otherwise challenged children.

The Fire will officially open its home schedule at TOYOTA PARK this Sunday, June 25 in the Grand Opening Match against the New York Red Bulls (6:00 p.m, CSN). More than 20,000 fans are expected to attend the event.
