MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER QUOTE SHEET

SATURDAY, APRIL 16, 2005 - METROSTARS 2, KANSAS CITY WIZARDS 2

METROSTARS HEAD COACH BOB BRADLEY

On the game:

"We're pleased to come back. It was a good strong mentality on that end. Certainly frustrated to find ourselves down two goals. I thought we had a decent enough start to the game. They were able to turn that first play into a goal and put us on our heels a little bit. I still felt good about the push at that point. It was nice to see Sergio [Galvan Rey] get some goals. It is very important for him in terms of confidence. He took the game last week hard because he felt like he had a really good and important chance so to bounce back with two goals is a real credit to him."

On Sergio Galvan Rey's performance:

"Sergio [Galvan Rey] is still a player whose game is about finding spaces around the goal and getting chances and scoring goals. That's how he played before he arrived here and that hasn't changed. There was just a period even if he found some of those spaces he had lost confidence in terms of finding the goal. I know how much pressure he has put on himself so it's nice to see him take some chances. He and John Wolyniec combined well. The first ball that John gave Sergio slipped real nicely right into his path and it was a clean finish. That is good to see."

On Youri Djorkaeff's first game:

"It was solid. He's not 100 percent by any means, but he's ready to get on the field and contribute. He still sees some things that the others don't. He delivered the ball over the top to John Wolyniec on the second goal that John was able to hold and slip back to Sergio [Galvan Rey]. We still need to get used to having him on the field more. For someone that we had to kind of go slowly with got a pretty good number of minutes and good effort."

METROSTARS FORWARD SERGIO GALVAN REY

On getting two goals early in the season:

"I feel very happy that I scored. I'm hoping this is the start of more things to come."

On his confidence:

"Of course when you don't score and things don't go your way you lose some confidence. However, you should always keep the same objective of why you were brought here and that keeps you going."

On the criticism he got last year:

"No, I feel fine with the criticism. You have to accept both the good news and the bad news. You have to be cold-headed."

METROSTARS MIDFIELDER YOURI DJORKAEFF

On the team's performance tonight:

"We scored two nice goals. We are working very hard and I'm sure we will win the next game."

On adjusting to his teammates:

"It was OK. It was not easy, but it was a good feeling working with everybody. I work everyday with all of the players and I feel very confident with the team."

On his feelings after Sergio Galvan Rey scored the first goal:

"First I was very happy for Sergio because last year he was injured and I don't like when players on my team have problems. I am here to help him. I was very happy for him. He scored at the right moment. During halftime we got motivated then we went back on the field and scored the second goal. That was very important. We finished with a good job. The most important was we worked as a team."

On his injury status:

"I am not 100 percent. My last game was in December so I cannot be 100 percent. My injury is gone and in two or three games I should be more fit."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS HEAD COACH BOB GANSLER

On the outcome of the game:

"Conventional wisdom says that when you get a point on the road and you score some goals, you should be walking away from here with a little swagger. But tonight, we don't feel good about it. When you lead two nothing, I don't care where it is (home or away), you don't let the other team back in, and we did that tonight. Everyone wants to break it down to offense and defense. We were in charge of the game initially and that was because of the way we were playing offensively. We allowed them to get back into the game because we decelerated offensively. We allowed them back into the game that's the big thing we did not like about this game."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS FORWARD JOSH WOLFF

On the game:

"When you are up two-nothing in the first half, you want to sure things up and get to half time two-nothing. We have to do the business and keep our lead and in the second half. We had no urgency or real ideas of playing the game, and it ended up costing us the win. It's disappointing to give up two goals."
