Utah Telemundo affiliate to broadcast Real Salt Lake vs. Columbus Crew on Sunday at 2 p.m. MT
SALT LAKE CITY - Real Salt Lake and Utah's Telemundo affiliate, KEJT 50/ KULX 51, announced today the details for a groundbreaking, Spanish-language broadcast of RSL's preseason game against the Columbus Crew to be aired Sunday at 2:00 p.m. MT. The two-and-a-half hour broadcast will include numerous interviews with Real Salt Lake players and executives, previewing and analyzing the birth of world-class professional soccer in Utah.
"The efforts of Telemundo to air this historic game to fans across the Wasatch Front represent the excitement and anticipation for our inaugural season and shows RSL's commitment to the Hispanic community," said RSL General Manager Steve Pastorino. "I'm sure that the opportunity for current and future soccer fans to see Jason Kreis, Clint Mathis and Eddie Pope on the field together for the first time, wearing the RSL colors, will accelerate our build-up for the April 16 opener at Rice-Eccles Stadium."
Telemundo has agreed to give Real Salt Lake a two-and-a-half hour window to air the game which will include an interview with General Manager Pastorino, Assistant Director of Marketing Trino Martinez, FW Kreis, Smithfield, Utah native MF Sergio Flores, DF Brian Dunseth and DF Rusty Pierce.
"We are delighted that Real Salt Lake has chosen Telemundo to air its very first broadcast," said Telemundo President John Terrill. THREE FOR ALL: Real Salt Lake, and Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation in cooperation with Utah Youth Soccer Association (UYSA) present the first annual "Three for All" 3 v 3 Soccer Fest. Boys and girls ages 7-15 are invited and encouraged to sign up. The tournament will be held on the University of Utah campus at Spence Eccles Fieldhouse located at 550 south Guardsman Way (1580 east) on Mar. 5, 2005.
