United announces schedule change

D.C. United announced a schedule change Monday for the Black-and-Red's September 4 match against the Chicago Fire. The match, now being played as part of an international soccer doubleheader, will kick off at 8 p.m. ET, 30 minutes prior to the original 8:30 p.m. ET start. The game will be carried live on D.C. United's broadcast partners WMET 1160 AM, Radio America 1540 AM, Radio Fiesta 1480 AM and Latino Mix 1350 AM.

United visit Chicago for the second and final time this season, looking to avenge the 3-0 loss suffered at the hands of the Fire and extend their standings point lead. Although the game will not be televised, fans can still follow all of the action at dcunited.com. Video highlights and live audio feeds are available for each match, as well as commentary following every game.

The Black-and-Red will return home September 11 to close out their Western Conference schedule, hosting the Dallas Burn for a 4 p.m. ET match. Originally scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff, this match was added to the ESPN Soccer Saturday schedule. In the match, United hopes to silence all-time leading MLS goal scorer Jason Kreis.

D.C. United embarks on the stretch run the following weekend, hosting the Fire to close out the season series between the two teams. This match is the first in a stretch of five consecutive Eastern Conference matches to close out the season. Great tickets are still available for all remaining home matches.
