D.C. UNITED HEAD COACH PETER NOWAK:
On the game:
"A soccer game is two halves, each are important. We came out tonight and performed. It was great to look up at half time to see that we were ahead by three. I believe that every game we dominate, but tonight we had excellent ball movement. This game is gives us a lot of confidence for the future."
On his thoughts at the half:
"Tonight for the first time we walked into the locker room at halftime and said that we should do the same thing for the second half."
On the play of Troy Perkins:
"Troy made some tremendous saves tonight."
D.C. UNITED GOALKEEPER TROY PERKINS:
On the Crew goal:
"We fell asleep in the last minute. It's a little unfortunate, because as a team, we deserved a shutout."
On the difference in this game:
"Overall it's the team's mentality, you get sick and tired of being pushed around and tired of losing, especially at home. We owe these (fans) some wins at home and we came out and did it tonight."
D.C. UNITED MIDFIELDER BRIAN CARROLL:
On the team's performance tonight:
"You know I thought we started off well, getting a good goal, fighting a getting physical early. We settled in and had some good play and Alecko had a great performance. Everybody on the team worked really hard and communicated really well."

"We hadn't scored much in our previous games. Before the game in the tunnel, I was thinking 'Why don't we go out and score four, five goals on these guys.' I finished my chances and it was a great overall night."

"Our midfield was fine. If our finishing was a little bit better, we would have been in good shape."
