Robinson inspires kids to kick it with Quakes

On Wednesday, July 14, San Jose Earthquakes defender Eddie Robinson inspired the children at the Kinder Care Learning Center in Campbell to play soccer.

Robinson was joined by the Quakes mascot, "Q", as he answered questions and demonstrated skills of the game. While Robinson stuck to the basics by showing the kids how to pass and trap the ball, the kids shot harder questions at him that awed even the adults around.

As the Q&A session ended, the kids quickly grabbed their teacher's soccer ball and played a small-sided game. Robinson helped two brothers, who are used to using their hands to play baseball, find their talent as goalkeepers on the soccer field. The two boys both made spectacular saves in goal that kept their respective teams in the game.

Robinson and "Q" finished off the event by signing autographs for the kids. Just moments after the Quakes defender and mascot left, the kids were already testing out their new soccer skills.
