Real Salt Lake's Brian Kamler, Jason Kreis and Eddie Pope will be recognized as pioneers of soccer this Saturday, May 14 during the game against Los Angeles Galaxy for their 10 years of play in Major League Soccer.
The three RSL starters, along with L.A. Galaxy MF Cobi Jones, will be acknowledged during the pregame events for being among a handful of players that have competed each season of the League's 10-year history. Veterans who have played in MLS for the entire decade include Jeff Agoos - MetroStars, Chris Armas -Chicago Fire, Mark Chung - Colorado Rapids, Robin Fraser - Columbus Crew, Chris Henderson - Colorado Rapids, Cobi Jones - L.A. Galaxy, Brian Kamler - Real Salt Lake, Jason Kreis - Real Salt Lake, Manny Lagos - Columbus Crew, Jesse Marsch - Chicago Fire, Jaime Moreno - D.C. United, Eddie Pope - Real Salt Lake, Preki - Kansas City Wizards, Steve Ralston - New England Revolution, and Ante Razov - Columbus Crew.
RSL PLAYERS AWARD LOCAL SOCCER YOUTH: Real Salt Lake players are going to be a part of the Utah Youth Soccer Association's Closing Ceremonies on Friday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m. MT in Murray, to demonstrate various soccer skills, sign autographs, and interact with local aspiring young players. RSL players FW Jamie Watson, MF Kenny Cutler, DF Cameron Knowles, GK Noah Palmer, MF Kevin Novak, and FW Jordan Cila are joining UYSA State Technical Director Greg Maas in presenting awards to all of the youth participants. The ceremonies will be held at Willow Pond Park located at 6059 Murray Parkway Avenue (1080 West).
FANS RECEIVE AUTOGRAPHED CARDS AT KAM'S KAUSES BOOTH: Real Salt Lake fans are encouraged to visit RSL MF Brian Kamler's booth, Kam's Kauses, in Carnival Real, the interactive soccer area in the south side of Rice-Eccles Stadium, on Saturday, May 14, to receive a Brian Kamler autographed card and have a chance to meet RSL players. At the Kam's Kauses booth, fans will have the opportunity to enter into a drawing for an RSL team autographed ball, RSL team autographed tee shirt, or a Galaxy autographed jersey. As a part of the booth, Kamler and his wife, Suzanne, are raising funds for local charities and encourage fans to donate to the different causes. The Kam's Kauses booth and Carnival Real are located in the Olympic Cauldron Park and opens 90 minutes prior to all RSL games.
RSL PLAYERS LEAD COUNTY SOCCER CLINICS: Real Salt Lake players will be leading three Salt Lake County soccer clinics at local recreational centers to help teach young players various skills of the game. On Monday, May 16, RSL players will be at the Northwest Mulitpurpose Center at 6:00 p.m. MT located at 1300 West 300 North and Clinton City at 6:30 p.m. MT located at 1906 West 1800 North. RSL players will also be involved with the Copperview Recreational Center soccer clinic on Tuesday, May 17, beginning at 6:30 MT p.m. located at 8446 South Harrison Street (300 West) in Sandy.
KAM GOES TO SCHOOL: RSL starting MF Brian Kamler is going back to school! Kamler is shadowing a 5th grade student at Carden School on Tuesday, May 17 at 1:00 p.m. MT as part of a silent auction package purchased by the student's mother. Kamler's donation known as "Kam Goes To School" was a part of the RSL Inaugural Kick Off Luncheon auction and includes a two hour session at a student's school. As a part of the visit, the 10-year veteran will host a school assembly giving the students a chance to ask questions about the experiences of a professional athlete and the importance of setting goals.
SEASON TICKETS STILL SELLING BRISKLY: Real Salt Lake season ticket packages, now pro-rated following the first two games, remain on sale. The RSL 2005 season ticket package now features 19 games, including the remaining 14 MLS regular season games, four special bonus games and the highly-anticipated U.S.-Costa Rica World Cup Qualifier on June 4. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the RSL Ticket Office at 515 South 700 East, #2R, SLC, UT 84102, by logging onto www.RealSaltLake.com or by contacting the Real Salt Lake Ticket Office at (866) 9-SOCCER.
GET YOUR FLEX ON WITH NEW SEASON TICKET OPTION: To add more options for fans, RSL now offers the Flex Season Ticket Package, which is comprised of twenty vouchers of the same price category (North Goal, Corner Flag, Premium and VIP) that allows the purchaser to determine which games they would like to see in the regular season and how many tickets needed for that game. Prices for the 2005 Flex Package are $260 for the North Goal, $320 for the Corner Flag, $440 for the East Sideline and $560 for the VIP seats. Tickets can be redeemed in the following way: one could use all the vouchers and bring 20 people to one game or 4 people could attend five games. Flex vouchers are discounted from the day of game pricing making it an even greater value. Vouchers can be redeemed in advance through the Real Salt Lake Front Office by mail or in person or on the day of the game at the Real Salt Lake Customer Service Window. Seating is best available per price category at the time of redemption. The June 4th US-Costa Rica and RSL-FC Dallas doubleheader is not included in the flex package.
SINGLE-GAME TICKETS ON SALE: Real Salt Lake single-game tickets for its inaugural 2005 season at Rice-Eccles Stadium continue to be on sale both online and at the University of Utah Ticket Office, located at the Stadium's south end. Individual game prices are $14 for north goal, $18 for corner flag, $25 for premier east and $32 for VIP west. Individual game tickets can be purchased by visiting the Utah Ticket Office at 451 South 1400 East, by logging onto www.utahtickets.com or by contacting the Ticket Office at (801) 581-UTIX. Fans are continued to be encouraged to purchase in advance.
