RadioShack's 'Magic Minute' sweepstakes winner selected

Jeanett Malan, age 34, of Ogden, Utah, is one step closer to winning $1 Million in the "Magic Minute" national online sweepstakes sponsored by RadioShack Corporation (NYSE:RSH) and Major League Soccer (MLS).

Throughout the 2004 MLS season, thousands of fans logged on to the League's official Web site, www.MLSnet.com or www.radioshack.com/magicminute. Fans were asked to select a player from the rosters of MLS teams competing in that week's MLS/RadioShack Soccer Saturday ESPN2 broadcast, and predict the minute in which he would score. Cash prizes, RadioShack gift cards and MLS gear were on the line each week.

At the end of the regular season, Malan was randomly selected as the Grand Prize winner from all eligible entries received throughout the MLS season. Malan, a mother of six children, will fly along with three guests to the League's 9th Championship Game, MLS Cup 2004, to be played on Sunday, Nov. 14, and broadcast live on ABC Sports.

"The Magic Minute Promotion has created an additional aura of excitement and suspense around every Major League Soccer game televised on ESPN2's Soccer Saturday broadcasts this season," said Kathy Carter, Executive Vice President of Major League Soccer. "We look forward to welcoming Ms. Malan to the 2004 MLS Cup Weekend and wish her the best of luck."

Malan will have an opportunity to select one player from one of the MLS Cup 2004 teams and predict the minute that player will score during the match. If the selected player scores during the chosen minute, she will win $1 million.

"I am thrilled to be attending the MLS Cup in Los Angeles," Malan said. "With six children in our family, I've seen my share of soccer matches. This live MLS game will be a great opportunity to see professional soccer before Real Salt Lake (MLS team) debuts in the spring of 2005."

"The Magic Minute National Sweepstakes created a great deal of excitement during the weekly MLS/RadioShack Soccer Saturday games, and we're glad to have been a part of such an unusual sweepstakes," said Jim McDonald, RadioShack's senior vice president and chief brand officer. "Now, not only do Jeanett and her three guests get to witness the excitement of MLS Cup 2004, she also could walk away with $1 million if her selected player scores during the minute she chooses. That's what I call one lucky fan."
