MetroStars 2, Real Salt Lake 2 -- quote sheet

REAL SALT LAKE 2, METROSTARS 2

REAL SALT LAKE HEAD COACH JOHN ELLINGER

On the play of Seth Trembly:

"Seth was the spark that we needed and he did a great job scoring the goal. His job going into the game was to go in and take over the left side of the field, and that is what he ended up doing."

On the play in the second half:

"At halftime every player that went back on the field knew that our backs were against the wall. We just kept playing and playing, and getting opportunities. At the end of the game they were getting tired and we just kept pushing them."

REAL SALT LAKE GOALKEEPER D.J. COUNTESS

On the game:

"We kept fighting, and tonight is something to build on. I am so proud of the guys tonight. Seth Trembly came in and scored a great goal for us. I was pretty confident after the first goal that we could come back and score the second goal. I give credit to the guys. We battled as a team and backed each other up. I was disappointed to give that goal up. I'll be the first one to criticize myself for the mistake."

REAL SALT LAKE FORWARD JASON KREIS

On his penalty kick goal:

"The nerves are still there every time you step up to take one of those (penalty kick). When I'm not nervous about that then it will be time to quit."

On the play of D.J. Countess:

"D.J. made a mistake, but he also made two or three saves that kept us in the game. Without his play we would have not had the result that we did."

METROSTARS HEAD COACH BOB BRADLEY

On tonight's game:

"It was a disappointing result, obviously. A two-goal lead and chances to get the third goal, I don't think we did a good enough job at being disciplined in a way we went about going for the third goal."

METROSTARS FORWARD ANTE RAZOV

On the goal:

"Magee got the ball and got running with it and hit the ball on goal. I just followed the shot, like they say all the time."

On the game:

"When we played one- and two-touch we were fine. We were creating chances. But we stopped playing when we were up 2-0. We gave them a hole and let them back in."

METROSTARS FORWARD MIKE MAGEE

On the game:

"It was good to get a goal. We needed to come out in the second half and get one and we did that and then we had a letdown; it was a game we knew we should have won."

On giving up the lead:

"We came out strong today and got up 2-0. We have to learn to finish out games."
