Major League Soccer unveils new MLS Cup 2005 logo featuring Texas theme
NEW YORK - Major League Soccer today unveiled the official logo for MLS Cup 2005, the League's championship game. The logo features a contemporary interpretation of a traditional Texas sheriff's badge, with the red, white and blue colors being inspired by the host team, FC Dallas.
The marquee matchup, which is the first single-game pro sports championship to take place in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, will take place on Sunday, November 13 at 3:30 p.m. ET at the brand new Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, TX, the world's largest professional and youth soccer complex. The game will be televised live on ABC Sports.
The logo was created by MLS Creative, in collaboration with Rare Design, of Harrisburg, Mississippi. The logo includes the Alan I. Rothenberg Trophy, MLS' championship trophy which is named after the League's founder, the MLS logo, and the outline of the state of Texas. The 10 stars included in the logo are representative of the League's 10th season anniversary.

Pizza Hut Park, a 117-acre facility, features a 20,000 seat soccer stadium, home to all FC Dallas MLS matches, major concerts, international soccer matches and high school football. Adjacent to the stadium are 17 regulation-size, tournament-grade soccer fields which will be utilized on a year-round basis, making the Center the focal point of youth and adult soccer in North Texas as well as the future destination of the most prestigious local, regional, national and international competitions. An estimated 1.4 million spectators and participants are expected to visit the facility annually.
