L.A. GALAXY, DALLAS BURN TO MEET AT THE DEPOT CENTER ON MAY 29: The Los Angeles Galaxy (4-2-3, 15 pts - 1st West) return home this week for a crucial Western Conference match against the Dallas Burn (2-3-2, 8 pts - 5th West) on Saturday, May 29 at 7 pm at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. The first 5,000 fans in attendance with receive a bottle buddy, courtesy of Sierra Mist. The Galaxy and the Burn have already met once in 2004, with L.A. posting a 3-1 come-from-behind victory at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on May 8, thanks to two goals from Jovan Kirovski and a single tally by Carlos Ruiz. This week's match will be televised on a tape-delay basis on ESPN2 (10:30 pm PT), but will be available live to radio listeners in the Los Angeles area in three languages English (KMPC - 1540 AM), Spanish (KMXE - 830 AM) and Korean (Radio Korea - 1230 AM).
LOS ANGELES TIME FAMILY PACK NIGHT RETURNS SATURDAY: The Los Angeles Galaxy are pleased to announce that their next home game, on Saturday, May 29 vs. Dallas at 7 pm will be the next chance this season for fans to purchase a Los Angeles Times Galaxy Family Pack. PARADISE CAFE IN GARDENA TO HOST POST-GAME PARTY AFTER DALLAS MATCH: Paradise Restaurant in Gardena will be hosting a post-game party for fans with Galaxy players in attendance after each home game during the 2004 season. For the complete list of players expected to be there after this Saturday's match against the Burn, log on to www.lagalaxy.com. Fans will have the chance to get autographs, take pictures, and enjoy post-game happy hour fare. The restaurant is located at the intersection of the 110 and 405 Freeways. From The Home Depot Center, those attending should travel west on Victoria Street, turn right on Vermont and then make immediate right into the parking lot.
GALAXY TO ENTERTAIN BRAZILIAN POWERHOUSE SAO PAULO IN CARSON JUNE 2: The Los Angeles Galaxy will play an international friendly against Sao Paulo Futebol Club (Brazil) on June 2, 2004 at The Home Depot Center. The 7:30 pm match will be the first in Galaxy history against a Brazilian club team. The Galaxy-Sao Paulo match will also feature a Brazilian Soccer Festival, produced by Brazilian Nites Productions, beginning at 6:00 pm with live entertainment including traditional Brazilian music and dancers, and a variety of promotional booths on the main concourse inside The Home Depot Center. Tickets for Galaxy-Sao Paulo match are now on sale with pricing as follows: Club $75, Sideline $45, Corners $30, Upper Deck $28, Endlines $22 and General Admission $15. LARGEST REUNION OF GALAXY PLAYERS IN HISTORY GATHER TO HONOR CIENFUEGOS WITH FAREWELL MATCH: The Los Angeles Galaxy will be honoring former L.A. Galaxy and El Salvadoran international midfielder Mauricio Cienfuegos with a farewell match on Saturday, June 5 at The Home Depot Center. In what will be the largest reunion of current and former Galaxy players since the league's inception almost a decade ago, the Galaxy will celebrate the career of one of its "founding fathers" as part of an exciting doubleheader of soccer action. Cienfuegos' farewell match will kick off at 5:00 pm on June 5 and will be played prior to the re-scheduled regular season match that evening between the Galaxy and Wizards (from July 31st) at 7:30pm. The Galaxy's international friendly vs. Sao Paulo (Brazil) has been moved to Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at 7:30 pm, making it a dynamic week of matches for Southern California soccer aficionados at The Home Depot Center.
DESPITE LATE SURGE, GALAXY DROP 4-2 DECISION TO EARTHQUAKES: The San Jose Earthquakes withstood a furious comeback bid by the visiting Los Angeles Galaxy before claiming a 4-2 victory at Spartan Stadium in San Jose last Saturday. A pair of goals from Brian Ching and one from Brian Mullan and Dwayne De Rosario's 79th-minute goal sealed the result for the Earthquakes. After San Jose jumped out to a three-goal lead, Andreas Herzog got the Galaxy on the board when he turned home a Joseph Ngwenya centering pass in the Earthquakes penalty area to make it 3-1. Ned Grabavoy, who had replaced Herzog, then curled a free kick into the box from the right side and Ngwenya nodded a header inside the left post for his second goal of the year to cut the lead to one before De Rosario put the final tally on the board.
GALAXY RE-LAUNCH OFFICIAL TEAM WEBSITE - WWW.LAGALAXY.COM: The Los Angeles Galaxy have announced that the club's official website www.lagalaxy.com, has been re-launched. The site is one of eight team sites on the newly created MLSNet.com Internet Network, a cooperative effort between Major League Soccer and Sports on Earth, LLC. In addition to the tools the that Galaxy fans previously used to follow their favorite team, visitors to the new www.lagalaxy.com will find more features and increased ease in navigating the many sections of the site. Additionally, the site will give fans access to video and audio highlights from every Galaxy game.
MAS GALAXY TO BREAK DOWN THE GALAXY AND THE BURN WEDNESDAY AT 8 PM: Más Galaxy, the club's Spanish-Language radio talk show, which airs each Wednesday at 8 pm on KMXE 830 AM, will give fans an inside look at the Galaxy-Burn match-up this week. The program, hosted by Troy Santiago and Rigoberto Cervantez, will feature interviews with players from each team as well as analysis by both Santiago and Cervantez.
