AMSTERDAM – Wolverhampton netminder Marcus Hahnemann said
returning to MLS is an option for next summer, but any decision will
probably be made closer to season's end.

The 38-year-old US international’s contract with Wolves is set to expire in
June of 2011.

"There's so many options coming up, with Portland and Vancouver,"
Hahnemann told MLSsoccer.com over the phone. "Nothing's been finalized and I don't know
what I want to do yet. There's a lot of things that come into play with a
decision like this."

Wolves have yet to make an extension offer for the former Colorado Rapids No. 1.

"We haven't talked about that," Hahnemann said.
"That's something, I think, that takes place later."

Hahnemann led the A-League version of the Seattle Sounders to consecutive second-division
crowns in 1995 and '96, would prefer to play in his hometown of Seattle. Kasey
Keller, however, will likely be manning the pipes for the Sounders next year.

"Ultimately, it's not home, which is Seattle," Hahnemann said of his
options for playing stateside. "That's where I was born and raised, where
me and my wife consider home. But [Portland or Vancouver would be] close to
home."

But even if the burly goalkeeper does not get the chance to play in the
Northwest, he welcomes the new additions in 2011.

"Being in Portland and Vancouver is going to make the league competition
so much nicer," Hahnemann declared. "[Along with Seattle], to have
the rivalry between those towns is going to be fantastic."

On Wednesday, Hahnemann and Wolves welcome third-place Arsenal to the Molineux.
