U.S. OPEN CUP QUOTE SHEET

TUESDAY, JULY 20, 2004 - LOS ANGELES GALAXY 0, MINNESOTA THUNDER 1

Los Angeles Galaxy Head Coach Sigi Schmid

On the game:

"We lost the game in the first twenty minutes tonight. We gave them confidence and hope in those first twenty minutes, even though we slowly grabbed the game back it was not enough. In the end, we had too many injured defenders to compensate for."

Looking ahead to Kansas City:
We should get some guys (Andreas Herzog and Cobi Jones) back, that is why we sent then home in the first place. So, they can play on Saturday. Even if we were to use the same crew on Saturday, I would expect a different game especially in the first twenty minutes.

Los Angeles Galaxy Forward Jovan Kirovski

On the game:

"We got off to a horrible start. We talked about getting off to a good start before the game and we did just the opposite. We gave up a shot in the opening seconds and a goal in the first twenty minutes. We never recovered."

On playing Kansas City on Saturday:

"We have to forget about this loss. It makes the Kansas City game on Saturday all the more important."

Los Angeles Galaxy Midfielder Josh Gardner

On his first appearance in an official match:

"I was pleased to be out there and kicking it around with the boys. Sigi (Schmid) wanted me out there on the left side. I tried to make an impact; unfortunately we did not get the result that we wanted.
