MAKE SUN SAFETY YOUR GOAL: This Saturday, the Galaxy and Galaxy Foundation will host its "Make Sun Safety Your Goal" Day at the Galaxy vs. Fire game at The Home Depot Center. For the third year, the Galaxy and Galaxy Foundation have teamed up with the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the U.S. Soccer Foundation, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and MLS teams (and their foundations) Chicago Fire, Colorado Rapids, D.C. United to increase the awareness and importance of sun protection. Sun exposure is the most preventable factor for skin cancer and through this campaign the Galaxy, Galaxy Foundation and 2004 spokesperson, Kevin Hartman seek to encourage soccer players and spectators to protect themselves from the damaging effects of the sun and avoid skin cancer by making sun-safe choices. Fans in attendance at this Saturday's Galaxy game will receive a "Make Sun Safety Your Goal" poster and bookmark featuring AAD and EPA recommended sun protection guidelines, while supplies last.

KIROVSKI IN CAMP WITH USA FOR WORLD CUP QUALIFIER VS. GRENADA: Los Angeles Galaxy forward Jovan Kirovski is one of 19 players in camp with United States Men's National Team to train in advance of the first leg of the USA's World Cup qualifying series against Grenada on June 13 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. The second leg of the series will be played June 20 in St. George's, Grenada, with the team scoring the most goals over two games (aggregate scoring) advancing to the semifinal round.

Kirovski has made an immediate impact on the Galaxy since coming to the club from Birmingham City of the English Premier League prior to the 2004 season, scoring five goals and adding an assist in just nine matches with the club. Kirovski has played 61 times for his country's national side and scored nine goals. His most recent appearance for the red-white and blue came in the USA's 1-0 defeat of Mexico on April 28 at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas.

GALAXY SUFFER FIRST HOME LOSS OF SEASON TO WIZARDS: The Kansas City Wizards got a late goal from Diego Gutierrez and posted a 2-1 victory against the Los Angeles Galaxy last Saturday at The Home Depot Center. After a scoreless first half of play, forward Alejandro Moreno scored his MLS-best 6th goal of the season to give the Galaxy the lead just before the hour. However, Francisco Gomez equalized for Kansas City in the 65th minute before Gutierrez scored just four minutes from time to give the visitors the victory.

CIENFUEGOS STEALS THE SHOW IN HIS FAREWELL MATCH: The "El Salvador Select" side defeated an L.A. Galaxy Alumni team by a 4-3 score in Mauricio Cienfuegos' Farewell Match last Saturday night at The Home Depot Center. The game gave Galaxy fans one more chance to say goodbye to the Salvadoran midfielder, who played for the club from 1996-2003. Cienfuegos played one half for each side, starting the match with his club side before changing into the colors of his national team. With the score tied at 3-3, Galaxy 'keeper Raul Garcia took down Santos Cabrera in the penalty area in the 58th minute. Cienfuegos then stepped up and awaited his chance to give El Salvador the lead from the penalty spot. With the crowd rising to its feet, the midfielder struck the ball cleanly into the upper right corner of the goal to make it 4-3. Neither side would threaten after that and Cienfuegos was carried off the field at the final whistle.
