Full slate to mark start of 2005 season
the cup's current holders -- travel to the Windy City to take on the Chicago Fire on opening day. The recently renamed Texas club will debut their yet-to-be-unveiled jerseys in a matchup with their traditional rivals, and both clubs will be looking to start 2005 on the right foot after finishing in last place in their respective conferences this past season.
The San Jose Earthquakes will begin their 2005 campaign with an overhauled lineup as they play host to the New England Revolution. Forward Landon Donovan and defender Agoos, among others, have departed, meaning the Quakes will likely send a fresh, young squad onto the field at Spartan Stadium for the season opener. In July 2004, the Quakes and Revs played one of the more memorable MLS matches in recent history, as the Quakes -- down to 10 men at the time -- scored twice in second-half stoppage time to steal a share of the points.
