"Day on the Links" raises more than $27,000 for Galaxy Foundation
CARSON, Calif. - The Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation's Third Annual "Day on Links" Golf Outing, played on Sept. 27 at Industry Hills Golf Club at The Pacific Palms Conference Resort, raised more than $ 27,000, Galaxy president and general manager Doug Hamilton announced Monday.
"We are extremely pleased with the success of the Galaxy Foundation's third annual 'Day on the Links' golf outing. It was great to see the players and staff participate with our corporate sponsors and to have received so many valuable contributions to our foundation," said Hamilton. "The proceeds from these activities will allow us to continue to help at-risk and underserved children throughout the Southland and bring many of them out to Galaxy games."
The event's proceeds will benefit many of the Galaxy Foundation's community outreach programs, including Kicks for Kids, where Galaxy tickets are donated to organizations benefiting underserved youth and the Galaxy's Holiday Assist Program, which enables the club to make the holidays a little brighter and more enjoyable for children in need.
All those participating in the event were placed in foursomes with Galaxy players, coaches and select front office members, including Hamilton.
The team led by Galaxy midfielder Sasha Victorine shot the lowest gross round of the day and were awarded a Nike pitching wedge. Meanwhile, the team captained by defender Chris Albright had the lowest net score and received Michelob Ultra golf bags.
But, in the end, it was the Foundation and the children it benefits that walked away the biggest winner, through tournament entry fees, raffle tickets and a silent auction.
The Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation wishes to thank all those who participated in the event for their support and would also like to extend a great deal of gratitude to the members of the corporate community who lent a helping hand in presenting the event.
The companies that assisted in the success of the event include: sponsors Pepsi/Sierra Mist, and Anheuser Busch/Budweiser and Nike; lunch sponsor In-N-Out Burger, program sponsor Print Technology Solutions and signage sponsor Sitelines Productions.
