Dallas Burn donate 200 tickets for Saturday's game as part of ongoing program for the "UnitedHealthcare Burn Out Drugs" campaign
Dallas, Texas - Dallas Burn President and General Manager Greg Elliott announced today that the Major League Soccer club has invited multiple groups to attend the match on Saturday, October 16 versus San Jose as an extension of the "UnitedHealthcare Burn Out Drugs" campaign.
As part of the "Burn Out Drugs" campaign sponsored by UnitedHealthcare, the Dallas Burn will donate 200 tickets and 200 drink and hot dog coupons for their "must-win" match Saturday against the San Jose Earthquakes. Five Groups have been invited including Nathan Adams Elementary, Chamber Soccer Group, Verizon Wireless Group, Western Union Group and TJ Rusk Middle School.
Besides enjoying the action of the match, the groups will be treated to participation in the pre-game parade and are invited to attend a post-game speech delivered by Burn Assistant Coach Brian Haynes. The speech will be regarding the negative aspects of drugs and the dangerous effects of substance use.
The "UnitedHealthcare Burn Out Drugs" campaign consisted of anti-drug assemblies on February 3 and 4 presented by Dallas Burn players and Phoenix House, a national non-profit substance abuse service organization, representatives at 20 schools in front of an estimated 25,000 students in the Metroplex. The assemblies featured players and staff from the Burn as well as Phoenix House personnel who gave away free posters made specifically for the event, had autograph sessions and soccer demonstrations along with facts about the dangers of substance abuse.
