Burn 2, Earthquakes 1 -- quote sheet

coming up big in that one opportunity that you get to shine and make something big out of the game and I'm just pumped that I could help out the team."

DALLAS BURN MIDFIELDER ERIC QUILLo

On his first goal of the year:

"The monkey is off the back. After that goal I was just playing with a load of confidence for the rest of the game. There's no better feeling than scoring a goal and hopefully it's a sign of things to come."

SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On the game:

"I felt the lineup we had tonight was good. At 1-1, we had a good opportunity to go 2-1 up, but we missed that chance. It was just one of those nights, missing open goals and not taking advantage of our chances. The momentum is going against us, but we need to stay positive, even though it is a downtime for this team."

On the result:

"They came with one forward and we had three guys so it was a numerical advantage for us. I thought we did all right in the back. We have a game coming up Saturday and we will have to be better. It is going to be a test for us, show us what we are made of."

SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES DEFENDER TODD DUNIVANT

On his return:

"It felt great, but it would have felt a lot better if we had pulled out a win, but it's the small things that are catching up with us a little bit. Obviously we need to turn this around, and we will; we have a great group of players and it's just the little things that aren't going our way right now and it's something we have to change."

SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES MIDFIELDER LANDON DONOVAN

On the penalty kick:

"I didn't hit it really well. You need to get it high enough where he can't reach it or you need to get it down where it's hard to get to. It was kind of right in his wheelhouse. He made a good save but it's inexcusable to miss."

SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES GOALKEEPER PAT ONSTAD

On the team and game:

"I think every team in the league goes through injuries and national team call-ups; we believe we have a good core of players here and its time for us to step up and start playing better. We tried some stuff tonight and we didn't really respond well. At times we seemed a little unsure in the back, but that didn't have much bearing on the final result. We missed some good opportunities, and then they scored a soft second goal and that was really it."
