American Exports: Johnson loaned to Preston North End

AMSTERDAM – Fulham forward Eddie Johnson's agent has confirmed to MLSsoccer.com that his client will spend the final six months of his contract on loan at Championship survivalists Preston North End.

The 26-year-old US international looked to be slipping down the Craven Cottage depth chart with Moussa Dembélé, Andy Johnson and Bobby Zamora all gradually returning to fitness and has found a temporary home with the Lilywhites in order to gain playing time.

Preston currently sit bottom in the Championship and six points shy of the safe 21st-place slot with 20 games left in the season. Erstwhile Hull City manager Phil Brown's side has scored a lowly 29 goal thus far, led by Jon Parkin's seven and Canada international Iain Hume's five.

This season with Fulham, Johnson appeared in 12 contests across all competitions without scoring. He has yet to open his competitive Cottagers account in 20 matches since arriving from the Kansas City Wizards in 2007.

The Florida native started his career with FC Dallas, and has had previous loan stints at Aris FC in Greece and Cardiff City.
