AMSTERDAM – In a deadline buzzer-beating move, Villarreal forward Jozy Altidore has sealed a six-month loan with Turkish champs Bursaspor.

The US international was involved in a final day of the window crush, with the Green Crocodiles topping loan and transfer interest from competing clubs in England, the Netherlands, Spain and Turkey. Altidore’s agent confirmed the deal to MLSsoccer.com just after the transfer window had closed.

Altidore becomes the second front-like augmentation for Bursaspor in 10 days, following the capture of Rangers strike ace Kenny Miller. The holders stand second, two points behind fellow Altidore admirers Trabzonspor, ahead of Friday's visit from Sivasspor.

This season, Altidore scored twice in 11 Villarreal appearances. The 21-year old has had previous loan stints at Hull City and Xerez.

Altidore becomes the second US international to move to Turkey in the past two days. On Sunday, second-division side Rizespor secured Freddy Adu on a six-month loan from Benfica.
