Sporting KC debutant Jon Kempin wins Save of the Week for Week 22

He might have been making his Major League Soccer debut, but Sporting Kansas City Homegrown goalkeeper Jon Kempin made the most of it, coming up with one brilliant penalty-kick save that earned the 21-year-old the Save of the Week for Week 22.

Kempin earned 39.53% of the fan vote for his save on Vancouver's Darren Mattocks, edging out Real Salt Lake's Nick Rimando, whose reflex save on D.C. United's Eddie Johnson garnered 31.24% of the vote. Rimando, though, did set a new record for career shutouts in MLS with the 3-0 win over United.

Kempin is the second Sporting KC goalkeeper to win SOTW this year, after Eric Kronberg won it in Week 9.
