Report: Chilean media say Real Salt Lake set to sign Argentine forward Sebastian Jaime
Real Salt Lake remain near the top of the standings in MLS, but they've struggled to get goals out of their strikers since Alvaro Saborio went down with a broken foot in May.
According to reports out of Chile, however, help could be on the horizon.
Canal de Futbol reported on Tuesday that Argentine striker Sebastian Jaime is leaving Chilean team Union Española for the Utah side.
Jaime, 27, briefly featured for Argentinos Juniors in his native country before moving to Chile in 2010 for La Serena. He then moved to Union Española in 2011, where he's featured ever since, winning the 2013 Chilean first division title with los rojos.
When asked about the report, a Real Salt Lake spokesperson said, "Real Salt Lake is aware of the reports connecting the club to the player in question, however at this point, we do not have a signed player."
The league's transfer window closes on Wednesday.
