American Exports: Bob Bradley welcomes NYCFC's Andrew Jacobson into the fold in Stabaek win

AMSTERDAM – Bob Bradley's Stabæk got well with a vengeance on Sunday evening, with Andrew Jacobson and Michael Stephens each working full midfield shifts in a 4-1 home demolition of Mikkel Diskerud's Rosenborg.

Making his debut on loan from New York City FC, Jacobson narrowly missed opening the scoring with a corner kick header in the 21st minute. Stephens continued his recent run of solid play as the Blue Ones ran up a three-goal halftime lead.

After Rosenborg had pulled one back, Diskerud was robbed on a chance to cut the away deficit to one. The US midfielder ran onto the end of a Mikael Dorsin cross at the back post in the 62nd minute, only to have Stabæk 'keeper Sayouba Mandé push his header just around the post.

The victory ended a seven-game Tippeligaen drought for Stabæk, who had not won in league play since May 20. More importantly, it nudged them clear of the relegation fray in 10th place. For Rosenborg, the result gave them consecutive league defeats for the first time since April of last year and pushed them to 13 points off the top in fifth place.

Meanwhile, backup Molde FK netminder Ethan Horvath watched from the away dugout as the league leaders were forced to settle for a 1-1 share at IK Start.
