Transfer Watch: Ronaldinho's representatives reportedly meet with New York Red Bulls

Ronaldinho’s long-rumored move to MLS could be coming true, according to a report from Brazilian outlet UOL.

Representatives of the 34-year-old Brazilian playmaker, who recently left Atlético Mineiro, have reportedly met with the New York Red Bulls officials.

Ronaldinho’s brother and manager, Roberto de Assis Moreira, did not comment in the report on the potential move.

A deal for the former World Cup winner with Brazil and AC Milan and Barcelona star could serve to replace Thierry Henry’s star power and playmaking abilities should the Frenchman retire when his contract is up at the end of the season. Or, if Henry comes back for another year, Ronaldinho could add yet another big name to the Red Bulls' quiver next season as new rival, New York City FC, begin play armed with international stars David Villa and Frank Lampard.

The 2002 World Cup winner been linked with MLS in the past, in 2010 and in 2011 when the LA Galaxy were reportedly interested in signing him.

He was not part of the Brazil squad that finished fourth on home soil in this year's World Cup. At Atlético Mineiro, he won the 2013 Copa Libertadores, the first time that club had ever won that tournament, and is one of the most decorated players of his generation.
