They've conceded the third fewest goals in MLS this season, but D.C. United may still be looking to bolster their defense.

According to a report from Asia, Lee Ki-Je, who plays in the J-League with Shimizu S-Pulse, has been offered a trial by United.

No word from the MLS club about the report.

D.C. United have already done business with Shimizu S-Pulse in January when they transferred central defender Dejan Jakovic to the Japanese club.

According to various online profiles, the 23-year-old Lee is a left back or left winger, who reportedly was trialing at German club FC Augsburg last winter. It might be because he can't win a starting spot with Shimizu S-Pulse, who currently sit in 15th place in the J-League standings. Available stats say Lee has only mustered one appearance in 16 matches in the current campaign.

D.C. United recently parted ways with Spanish left back Cristian Fernandez, who was "unhappy living in the United States" and could use some depth at the position.

The left back role has since been handed to Chris Korb, who is equally adept at playing either fullback position and has proven a standout player for the club in a recent stretch that has seen D.C. climb to 2nd place in the Eastern Conference.
