With the likes of Designated Players Jermain Defoe and Gilberto sitting ahead of him in the pecking order at forward, Toronto FC's 18-year-old academy product Jordan Hamilton was always going to have a tough time securing minutes.

That might be about to change.

According to Toronto Sun reporter Kurt Larson, TFC is set to loan out Hamilton to a Portuguese second-division club.

Toronto could not be reached for comment on the report.

The 18-year-old Hamilton signed a Homegrown contract with his hometown Toronto FC back in January and has played just a single minute of MLS action in the opening half of the regular season. Most of Hamilton's action has come on loan with Toronto's USL PRO affiliate, the Wilmington Hammerheads, where he scored five goals in 11 matches.

But his most famous goal in the senior ranks has to be the strike that beat Tottenham Hotspur netminder Brad Friedel in the midweek friendly against the EPL club at BMO Field (watch it below).
